Interfacial Rheology System
The Interfacial Rheology System (IRS) allows rheological measurements on interfacial layers at liquid/liquid and gas/liquid interfaces. Typical applications are protein films or inorganic surfactant networks. The measurement is performed with a bicone measuring geometry or De Nuoy Ring positioned directly in the interface. The influence of the bulk and upper phase of the flow field in the bicone system is compensated in an analysis optionally performed in the rheometer software after the measurement.
