What is nice about my role is the variety: No two days are the same. I am always challenged, from working in the lab and supporting product start-up at the customer to holding workshops. As an application specialist, I am involved in the whole sales process and beyond, starting with technical support in the pre-sales phase through customer test measurements and customer training to post-sales application support. The challenging thing is that each issue requires an individualized approach, and complex matters have to be resolved. My biggest motivation is when my support contributes to customer satisfaction, and we are able to offer the customer the optimal measuring system for their particular challenge.
I am currently a Regional Application Specialist for the product line surface area & pores at the European Technical Center in Graz. I handle application support for the product line across the whole EMEA region. I was already an Application Specialist before for the Austrian subsidiary.
My position is very fulfilling on a personal level, too, because I am in contact with a lot of different people and get to have a lot of interesting discussions with our customers – which keeps my finger on the pulse and allows me to constantly expand my horizon. This interface function between customer and product line also lets me report back the challenges and needs of customers straight to the product line, so that we can continue to offer the best-possible solutions.
Exactly as with our measuring instruments, every component in the team has to work together, so that we always deliver the best-possible results to our customers: We are all a part of one big whole. I am very proud to be able to contribute.
