The SmartMelt series is the choice for polymer melt rheology at the highest level. Experience unmatched performance, precise temperature control via actual sample temperature measurement, comprehensive shear rheology testing, and seamless compliance with ASTM D4440 and ISO 6721.
Designed for efficiency, SmartMelt ensures quick training, fast measurements, and dependable outcomes.

Key features

Comprehensive polymer melt rheology beyond one-point measurements

In contrast to one-point measurements such as the Melt Flow Index (MFI), the SmartMelt series determines the full shear-rheological picture, including flow curve, oscillation, time-temperature superposition (TTS), creep tests, relaxation tests. Easy-to-perform characterization enables reliable quality control and helps define optimal processing windows for manufacturing. The SmartMelt polymer melt rheometers are designed with modularity in mind, and measuring systems and other accessories can be exchanged to fit all of your needs. The series also complies with ASTM D4440 and ISO 6721.

Unparalleled temperature precision at an affordable price

The renowned Anton Paar ETD is the most cost-effective and high-performing electrical temperature oven for a polymer melt rheometer on the market. Covering a range of -150 °C to +400 °C, it offers direct temperature measurement at the sample, and minimizes temperature loss during loading and trimming while the sample is still in controlled inert atmosphere. The temperature calibration kit for automatic calibration ensures 100 % reliable results.

Fast training, reliable results

A series of tools optimizes time-to-measurement and delivers reliable polymer melt rheology results, while reducing training time for operators:

  • Touchscreen: Full sample preparation and running of tests directly at the instrument
  • TruChirp mode: Rapid broadband frequency sweeps using a controller-based OWCh approach
  • Toolmaster: Automatic recognition of measuring geometry and cell
  • QuickConnect: One-handed coupling of the measuring geometry in seconds
  • RheoCompass templates: Pre-prepared measuring workflows
  • Sample preparation and cleaning tools

Save energy, reduce noise, and maximize precision

The resource-friendly SmartMelt series ensures cost savings and environmental sustainability by using minimal compressed gas and energy, while maintaining quiet operation for a better working environment. The option to use inert gas prevents sample degradation, thereby optimizing results for your critical applications. This combination of efficiency, precision, and sample protection makes SmartMelt the ideal choice for polymer melt rheology.
