Above all: obtaining a lot of information from a small sample volume

When available sample volumes are small, combining the measurement of a number of parameters makes sense. Filling a few milliliters into a multiparameter setup such as Modulyzer gives an output of results for density, refractive index, and optical rotation as well as recovery of the sample itself. Measurement of viscosity, turbidity, and pH can also be added to the system. Using an automated sample changer allows work to be done after hours. In the morning, the operator can check that all results are given the “OK” and if the built-in FillingCheck™ feature has flagged any measurements due to bubbles or other reasons, the operator can restart the measurement for this sample. Images of the filled sample inside the density cell are also stored with each result for later verification of the measurement.

Automated filling, draining, and cleaning – from custom vials

Using an automatic sampler like Xsample 530 is a must when there are many samples to be measured each day. Using custom vials full of sample straight from production saves time and means the original bar code can be used for identification. Xsample 530 also allows you to apply different methods within one magazine, for example to measure fragrances and raw materials. The different samples are then assigned different filling, draining, and cleaning routines, using up to 3 different solvents. And as well as being space-saving, Xsample 530 is quiet so does not disturb other work in the laboratory.
