CTD450

  Convection Temperature Device CTD450
The CTD450 can be used with plate-plate systems, with a solid torsion bar fixture (DMTA), for extensional rheology (SER or film and fibre fixture) as well as for the measurement of UV curing.
Great care has been taken to ensure precise temperature control and even temperature distribution for all systems.
As the CTD450 can be connected directly to the instruments of the Physica MCRxx1 series an external temperature controller is no longer needed.

Film fixture

  Further, the CTD450 can be equipped with a camera that allows to record images or videos with the Rheoplus software. Changes in the sample can be observed directly which can be of interest e.g. for extensional or DMTA measurements.
The sample area can be flushed with inert gas for the measurement of samples sensitive to oxygen. A low temperature option using liquid nitrogen is available, the nitrogen consumption is minimized by employing a temperature dependent control of the nitrogen flow.

Plate-plate system

  Convection Temperature Device CTD600
The CTD600 distinguishes itself by a very large temperature range and a virtually gradient-free sample temperature. The combination of convection and radiation heating and the symmetrical design of the oven ensure a highly accurate temperature control.

Solid fixture

  Measurements can be carried out with plate-plate or cone-plate geometries, e.g. on polymer melts; further, measurements on solid bars (DMTA) and thin films or fibres (extension) are possible. A number of geometries including disposable systems covers a wide range of applications.
As with the CTD450 the sample area can be flushed with an inert gas. A low temperature option the operates with liquid nitrogen is also available.

UV system

  Accessories for the CTD450 and CTD600
The UV light accessory can be used instead of a lower plate for the measurement of UV induced reactions such as curing of printing inks or powder coatings. The UV light source is connected to the accessory with a lightguide. Control of the light source through the rheometer software is possible for e.g. automatic irradiation during a measurement interval.

Extensional rheology system

  The extensional rheology system SER, developed by Dr. Martin Sentmanat (Xpansion Instruments), in combination with the CTD600 or the CTD450 chamber turns the Physica MCR into a universal testing platform for extensional rheology. The SER can be used for extensional measurements over a large temperature and deformation range. Extension measurements as well as tensile testing, pear and peel tests, friction tests and extensional creep measurements become possible.

CTD1000

  Convection Temperature Device CTD1000
With a design similar to the CTD600 the CTD1000 allows measurements on e.g. glass melts, metal and alloys up to temperatures of 1000 șC.
As with the CTD600, the principle of temperature control (convection and radiation) and the symmetrical design allow precise and reliable measurements.
