Over the past several decades, indentation has been a method primarily used for testing hard materials. When it comes to soft materials, relative and absolute hardness measurements present unique challenges. As the fields of polymer chemistry and biotechnology become increasingly developed, a method for quantifying soft materials’ mechanical properties is of high importance.
