  Community reference methods for the analysis of spirits drinks: Electronic densimetry is an analytical reference method (method B in Appendix II) for measurement of density of distillate. The used densimeters must be capable of expressing density in g/ml to 5 decimal places with a temperature stability ±0.02 °C or better. Valid for DMA 4500 M and DMA 5000 M.

  Alcohol and Tobacco Tax & Trade Bureau, former BATF, certifies the use of Anton Paar density meters in proofing alcohol for tax purposes. Valid for DMA 5000 M.

• U.S. Pharmacopoeia: USP 29 - <841> Specific Gravity Method II

  With effect from January 1, 2006, the oscillating U-tube method is accepted as density/specific gravity measuring method by the US-Pharmacopoeia. According to "USP 29 - <841> Specific Gravity Method II" digital density meters can now also be used officially for drug analysis (USP29-NF24, p.2766; Pharmacopeial Forum, Vol. No. 31 (2), p. 515). Valid for DMA 35, DMA 38, DMA 4100 M, DMA 4500 M, and DMA 5000 M.

  Amending Regulation (EEC) No 2676/90: Community methods for the analysis of wines: The results of determining the alcoholic strength (in %vol) of a wide range of wines show the comparability of measurements carried out with the hydrostatic balance and the electronic density meter using a frequency oscillator and demonstrate that the values of the validation parameters are similar for both methods. A repeatability of 0.061 ( % vol.) for electronic densimetry is reported. Valid for DMA 4100 M, DMA 4500 M, and DMA 5000 M.
• Wines: COMMISSION REGULATION (EC) No 355/2005

  Amending Regulation (EEC) No 2676/90: Community methods for the analysis of wines: Electronic densimetry has been validated in accordance with internationally recognised criteria and has been estimated as a simpler and more accurate means of checking the alcoholic strength by volume of wines. A repeatability of 0.067 ( % vol.) for samples with an alcoholic strength between 4 and 18 %vol is reported. Valid for DMA 4100 M, DMA 4500 M, and DMA 5000 M.

  Community methods for the analysis of wines: for measuring the density or specific gravity at 20 °C the automated method based on the principle of the frequency oscillator is, in respect of its accuracy, repeatability and reproducibility, considered as equivalent to hydrometry or densimetry using a hydrostatic balance; Repeatability for density measurements for dry and semi-sweet wines: r = 0.00010, and for sweet wines: r = 0.00018. Valid for DMA 4100 M, DMA 4500 M, and DMA 5000 M.
