From Pottery to Membranes: Characterization of Ceramic Powders and Surfaces
Even though the term ceramics includes a wide range of materials, chemical compositions and applications, all of them have one thing in common: the fabrication process typically starts with raw powders. The desired processability of the raw materials and slips as well as the high quality and defined key properties of the final ceramic product are strongly impacted by the particle size distribution and zeta potential. Various applications of final products like ceramic membranes benefit from the characterization of the zeta potential.
In this webinar you will:
- Get a short introduction to Laser diffraction (PSA), DLS (Litesizer) and the streaming potential technique (SurPASS)
- Learn in which production steps the instruments are used and what typical results look like
- Learn about the influence of zeta potential on the performance of ceramic membranes
