Beyond the Surface Add on Module 3 - Indentation and Scratch Applications: Gain Industry-specific application knowledge: Medical Devices

Beyond the Surface Add on Module 3 - Indentation and Scratch Applications
Gain Industry-specific application knowledge by exploring the diverse applications of indentation and scratch testing techniques across various industries. This four-part series delves into the testing of battery materials, focusing on mechanical properties that enhance durability and efficiency, and the evaluation of medical materials and devices, with a special emphasis on soft materials like stent coatings and contact lenses. Additionally, it covers the performance testing of automotive and aerospace components, highlighting functional coatings such as TiN and the mar resistance of paints. The series also investigates soft materials, including paints, soft polymers, and bio-materials, providing deeper insights through advanced instrumented characterization techniques.

March 18, 2025: Medical Devices
This webinar presents key examples illustrating the importance of mechanical properties in the design and performance of medical materials and devices, with a particular emphasis on soft materials and small-scale devices. Topics include the mechanical behavior of stent coatings, essential for durability and effectiveness in vascular treatments, tooth enamel treatments for enhancing dental health, and the mechanical optimization of contact lenses to ensure comfort and functionality.

By the end of this webinar, participants will gain valuable insights into how mechanical testing contributes to the development and success of medical innovations.
