In the production of spirits the measurement of the alcohol content of (intermediate) products is crucial to guarantee of high quality and to maximize production volume. The quality and alcohol content of distilled beverages are determined in several process steps – fermentation, distillation, aging and blending – before the product is bottled or filled in casks. The control of each intermediate stage is crucial to ensure the quality of the end product.
