Step platforms are the basis for Anton Paar’s mechanical surface testing heads. Use combined modules (instrumented indentation, scratch, nanotribology) on one platform or apply a single test method with a stand-alone device. All platforms feature high positioning accuracy (<1 µm) over a great length and a one-click position synchronization from video microscope to indenter tip. Customized synthetic granite ensures enhanced vibration damping. Tailor-made glove box / vacuum chamber platforms are available on request.
Key features

Step 100
Step 100 can be equipped with the micro combi tester MCT³ and comes with motorized x (75 mm), y (75 mm), z (30 mm) tables. An optional optical video microscope (incl. objective x5) can be ordered. No anti-vibration table is included.

Step 300
Step 300 can be equipped with one head. Its anti-vibration table gives you more choice of options: the micro combi tester MCT³, the nanoindentation tester NHT³, the nano scratch tester NST³, and the bioindenter UNHT³ Bio. Motorized x (75 mm), y (75 mm) and z (30 mm) tables, and an optical video microscope (incl. objective x5) are included.

Step 500
Up to three heads can be mounted on Step 500. Freely combine the micro combi tester MCT³, the nanoindentation tester NHT³, the nano scratch tester NST³, and the Bioindenter UNHT³ Bio. Step 500 comes with an anti-vibration table, motorized x (215 mm), y (75 mm), z (30 mm) tables, and an optical video microscope (incl. objective x5).

Step 700 Noise-Control
Step 700 Noise-Control – the most sophisticated model – allows you to combine up to three heads, including the most sensitive ones. In addition to the micro combi tester MCT³, the nanoindentation tester NHT³, the nano scratch tester NST³, and the Bioindenter UNHT³ Bio, you can also mount the ultra nanoindentation tester UNHT³ or an atomic force microscope. The acoustic enclosure and an active anti-vibration table deliver precise results. Motorized x (215 mm), y (75 mm), z (30 mm) tables and an optical video microscope (incl. objective x5) are included.
