The combination of rheology and small-angle X-ray scattering can relate structural changes directly to the rheological behavior of liquid samples. This is of special interest in the fields of medicine, pharmaceuticals, and functional materials. Viscosity of materials often defines their applicability and manufacturability. So it's important to understand the structural changes of such materials under shear, for the optimization of related products.
Anton Paar has combined two of the most sophisticated devices on the market, the SAXSpoint 5.0 system and a unique RheoSAXS measurement set-up using the DSR 502 rheometer, allowing precise analysis of such materials.
