The pharmaceutical industry is constantly developing new products and formulations for the treatment and prevention of diseases. With our MCR platform, we offer an excellent tool to characterize the viscoelastic behavior of samples as well as the piston movement of prefilled syringes. Both measurement methods are essential to ensure correct and precise drug administration.
In this webinar, we will introduce rotational rheology for measuring liquids and oscillatory rheology for measuring semi-liquids. These tests are essential for quality control, formulation and development. We will show how to overcome measurement challenges, e.g. when only small sample volumes are available for expensive formulations based on large molecules. By choosing the right accessory or holder, further tests (such as tribology, UV curing, powder rheology, DMA) can be performed to get a complete picture of the pharmaceutical samples. Our latest highlight is the syringe test holder for testing the piston movement of prefilled syringes. By carrying out the tests in accordance with the ISO 7886 or ISO 11040 standards, both glide and breakaway forces can be measured and recorded using the RheoCompass application software. This software complies with QM regulations such as GLP/GMP or 21 CRF Part 11 (including audit trail, electronic signature, retrieval).
