Setting the Pace in Non-Ambient X-ray Diffraction: HTK 1500 High-Temperature Chamber, the ‘True’ Environmental Heater
With a long history in X-ray analytics (XRD and SAXS) and deep knowledge in these fields, Anton Paar is the market leader for non-ambient XRD attachments worldwide. After launching the first non-ambient XRD attachment in 1964, Anton Paar is celebrating 60 years of XRD in 2024.
As a highlight of the ‘60 years of XRD at Anton Paar’ anniversary year, we are pleased to announce a new non-ambient XRD instrument, the HTK 1500 High-Temperature Chamber.
The HTK 1500 High-Temperature Chamber is the new benchmark of environmental heaters for X-ray diffraction. It allows you to heat crystalline powders and bulk samples homogeneously up to 1,500 °C. In this webinar we will present the main specifications of the attachment, benefits, and application examples. The position of the heating rods and the highly accurate temperature measurement make the HTK 1500 the only ‘true’ environmental heater up to 1,500°C, enabling sample rotation and the easy conversion from reflection to transmission geometry. Additionally, the design facilitates sample spinning during high-temperature XRD measurements, which is crucial for improving data quality by overcoming preferred orientation. It is the best choice for applications where high temperatures need to meet high accuracy, such as defining lattice parameters or thermal expansion coefficients, or measuring temperature-induced phase changes and reactions.
The webinar will give you an overview of the HTK 1500 High-Temperature Chamber. You will get insights into:
- Specifications and key features
- Design of the attachment
- Application examples
Target group:
- Anyone performing non-ambient XRD experiments at high temperatures
- Anyone in the metals and ceramics industry and others interested in non-ambient XRD
Dr. Barbara Puhr obtained her PhD in Earth Sciences from the University of Graz, with a focus in petrology and geochemistry. Following a post-doctoral fellowship and some years of experience in X-ray diffraction in an industrial R&D facility, she joined Anton Paar in July 2014 and currently works as the product manager for Non-Ambient X-ray attachments.
