Characterizing building materials along their process chain - from the raw powder to the final product
Demand for modern high-performance materials in the construction sector is constantly increasing. Time pressure with more and more complex projects makes comprehensive monitoring of diverse parameters over the entire process chain crucial.
Using two differing cements from a well-known manufacturer, our specialists explain the influence of specific material characteristics on the processability, storability and final properties of the end product. Starting with the raw material, covering the impact of storage conditions, and discussing the setting behavior as well as the characteristics of the final product, we accompany you along the cement process chain.
The aim of this webinar is to develop a comprehensive understanding of modern characterization possibilities for building materials. The following methods are applied, briefly explained and then presented in regard to their application: gas pycnometry, particle size characterization (laser diffraction), specific surface area (Blaine, BET), XRD, powder rheology, rheology, mercury porosimetry, instrumented indentation testing.
