Best practice in low-temperature X-ray diffraction – a hot topic in the cold season

Low-temperature XRD is a vital tool for understanding materials properties in temperature ranges from just below ambient down to the boiling points of N2 or even lower. In the food or pharmaceutical industries, it is vital to understand proper storage conditions (e.g. freezing) or phase transitions (crystallization or melting) during varying non-ambient conditions below and above ambient temperatures. Likewise for thin film samples, studies must not only be performed at elevated temperatures, but also at temperatures below ambient to get a deeper and complete understanding of the thermal behaviour of the thin film.

In this webinar we will take a look at the technical solutions and applications of Anton Paar´s dedicated low-temperature chambers: TTK 600 Low-Temperature chamber for 2-circle goniometers and DCS 500 Domed-Cooling Stage for 4-circle goniometers.

You will get insights into:

  • Basics and principles low-temperature XRD
  • Insights into the low-temperature XRD solutions of Anton Paar
  • How to optimize data quality
  • Application examples

Target group:

  • Anyone performing non-ambient XRD experiments: from beginners to experts
  • Anyone wondering which type of non-ambient XRD attachment to use
  • Anyone who wants to optimize their non-ambient XRD experiments
