Semi-solid and solid density analyzers

Semi-solid and solid density analyzers

A complete solution for density measurement of powders, solids, and semisolids

The solid density analyzers from Anton Paar are tried and tested solutions. The Autotap and Dual Autotap tapped density analyzers conform to a wide range of international standards for the determination of bulk density. The Ultrapyc automatic gas pycnometers are ultra-simple to use and provide ultra-precise skeletal density or true density measurements of your solid materials. The Micro Rotary Riffler ensures representative sampling of the samples typically used for particle size, mercury intrusion, and gas sorption experiments from the larger amounts delivered to your lab.

5 Reasons

Easy to use

Whether it is the simplicity of Autotap or the intuitive graphical interface provided on Ultrapyc, these instruments make it easy to master the technologies used to determine the solid density of your materials. Tapped density analysis with Autotap is completely straightforward and the intuitive user interface of the Ultrapyc series allows you to easily master the method of gas pycnometry density measurement. The large, bright touchscreen enables you to navigate directly and quickly, adjust settings, begin, pause, and stop measurements, and saves bench space as there is no extra computer required for operation.

Accurate and precise

All Autotap instruments come equipped with Class A graduated cylinders which are fundamental for obtaining high-accuracy tapped density results. These instruments also deliver consistent results from the specific drop height and precise tapping frequency to which they are set during manufacture. The TruPyc technology used on Ultrapyc gas pycnometers ensures accurate true density results in any of their supplied sample cells over the widest available sample range. The TruLock lid closure system on the Ultrapyc provides the ultimate in precision and repeatability.

Conforms to many internationally recognized test methods

Solid density measurement is used in research, development, and quality control efforts over a diverse range of industries using internationally recognized test methods which specify the use of one of these technologies. In fact, many of the standard test methods describing the solid density measurement used throughout industry today were actually developed around these instruments. The current instrument designs ensure conformity to a whole host of ASTM, ISO, UOP, USP, MPIF, and JIS test methods.

Representative sampling of powders

To evenly distribute your powder sample into the smaller amounts needed for determining particle size, surface area, or pore size by gas sorption, pore size by mercury intrusion, or a host of other similar measurements, Anton Paar offers the Micro Rotary Riffler. This simple-to-use device splits sample amounts as large as 120 cm³ into eight equivalent aliquots to ensure reproducible results and valid data analysis.

Single-station as well as multi-station options

Our tapped density and gas pycnometer instruments are available in versions offering either a single analysis station or multiple analysis stations to fit the sample throughput needs of your laboratory. If your need to measure samples is less scheduled and you need the flexibility of a single-station unit, we offer that. If your lab receives a large number of samples on a fairly regular basis and you simply need the ability to maximize the number of stations available to you, we offer that as well.
