The Anton Paar Accelerator Program (APAP) is part of Anton Paar, a global company that develops, produces, and distributes laboratory instruments and process measuring systems, and provides customized automation and robotic solutions. At APAP, we're working with startups to develop the analytical measurement technology of tomorrow.

Answering your questions

FAQ

How much entrepreneurial freedom do I have? 

As much as possible. It's your idea, your project, your company. If you need support, it’s up to you to go get it. An APAP employee, however, will have a seat and a vote on your board (e.g., supervisory board, your project steering group, etc.). 

How much will Anton Paar be involved in my product development or product portfolio expansion? 

As little as possible, as much as advisable. We have lots of in-house know-how and experience that could be beneficial. 

What are the legal and business conditions? 

We’re providing capital as equity. If you don’t yet have a company, you should first set one up, preferably as a limited liability company. Anton Paar would then become a shareholder with all the rights and obligations this entails. The degree of participation here would depend on the value of the shares and the size of the capital investment. All forms of cooperation are done on an arm’s length basis. 

Who owns the intellectual property rights? 

The inventor or the company who invented the product. 

Is it necessary to publicly disclose a partnership with the Anton Paar Accelerator Program? 

This depends on our common strategy and will be decided case by case. 

How long does a partnership usually last? 

We strongly believe in long-term relationships and multiyear partnerships. We are not looking for short-term profits and quick exits. 

What do exit scenarios look like? 

Depends on the performance of the project. The long-term goal for Anton Paar is to permanently integrate successful projects into the Anton Paar Group, preferably as an individual company.
