Anton Paar starts training offensive for apprentices and their trainers in Graz.

In times of Corona crisis, Anton Paar counts on training and further education. The aim of the training offensive is to absorb the potential underload of the months ahead. The focus of the courses, which are separate from the normal day-to-day training routine, is to improve the apprentice training and strengthen the company through the qualification of skilled workers.

10,000 hours for training

10,000 hours or the equivalent of six full-time working employees for an entire year, are invested into the training program by the company. And the program is impressive. “We have put together an almost 50-page catalog for our apprentices and their trainers. The 40 individual courses range from mechatronics, electronics, metal technology and robotics to language and presentation courses,” says Anton Paar apprenticeship supervisor Christian Krispel. Most of the courses will be held internally, this means that experts in the company will hold courses in their respective areas. However, there are also trainings for the apprentice trainers. For this purpose, a training with a focus on didactic methods has been added to the catalog.

Strengthened after the crisis

The training offensive is also a matter of particular concern to its initiator Johann Scherfranz (Division Manager Production & Purchasing), “For me, this offensive is also a chance to emerge from the crisis strengthened. The training year 2020 must not be a lost year, neither for the young people, nor for the company in terms of the need for skilled workers.”
