Evaluating GISAXS Data with SAXSanalysis Using the BornAgain Export

A monolayer of gold nanoparticles was analyzed by GISAXS using the SAXSpoint 2.0 system. The GISAXS patterns were further analyzed using the SAXSanalysis and BornAgain software revealing the thin film arrangement and size of the particles.

Introduction

Grazing-incidence small-angle X-ray scattering is becoming a standard method in the analysis of thin film structures. However, the evaluation of such data sets is still often challenging.

BornAgain (www.bornagainproject.org) is currently the most advanced software for the fitting and simulation of GISAXS data. However, detailed knowledge of the beamline setup is required for proper data fitting and analysis. To facilitate the import of these parameters, the Anton Paar SAXSanalysis software offers a direct export function into the BornAgain software. This facilitates the analysis since all beamline parameters are automatically transformed into the BornAgain coordinate system.
