Density measurement of high viscous samples

With the Xsample 340 filling and rinsing unit, we can measure gel formed samples like petroleum jelly with additional automatic draining and cleaning

Introduction

Petroleum jelly is a colorless or pale yellow colored semisolid mixture of hydrocarbons having a melting point of approximately 37 °C and a kinematic viscosity of 13 mm²/s at 100°C.

It is used in a wide range of applications mainly in the medicine and cosmetic industry, with different additives according to their application.

This report describes how to measure the density of a commercial available sample Pharma Petroleum Jelly CD 2000 from Parafluid and a customer sample which is based on petroleum jelly.
