Building Materials | Determining Rheological Properties with RheolabQC

Find out how you can measure the viscosity of resin-based plasters. This report describes a measuring method for determining viscosity values of resin-based plasters. The tests are made on the Anton Paar rotational rheometer RheolabQC using a ball measuring system.

Plasters are frequently used building materials. Applications are for example the smoothening of interior or exterior surfaces or the exterior rendering of buildings. Resin-based plasters differ from strictly mineral plasters in the adding of organic binders.

Knowledge about the viscosity and flow characteristics is essential in the production and development of plasters. Information about the rheological behavior is essential for quality control and allows conclusions about the processing properties of the material.
