Checking the quality of maritime fuel on board
Density helps to identify the type and quality of marine fuels. Before the refueling process is initiated, the fuel quality can be checked directly on board a yacht by measuring the density with DMA 35 Ex Petrol.
Maritime fuels differ considerably in composition and quality. Especially in larger marinas that serve all sizes of yachts, the variety of available fuels might seem unclear. While smaller boats can be operated with the same type
of fuel as a car, the required fuel types become more specific with increasing size of the vessel. It is crucial to verify the correct type and proper quality of fuels prior refueling vessels in order to avoid damage to engines. One of the most powerful tools available for onboard fuel verification is density measurement. Anton Paar density meters provide assurance in just a few seconds before fueling. If the wrong fuel is identified or the quality is low, there is still time to refuse the fuel.
