Rheological Characterization of Ceramic Slurries with the Anton Paar MCR Rheometer
Rheological characterization of ceramic slurries is of great interest for quality control, formulation, and process engineering. The Modular Compact Rheometer (MCR) can be used to measure the viscosity as well as viscoelastic properties. In addition, the MCR allows for the simulation of processes and therefore the study of accompanying structural changes.
Introduction
Detailed knowledge of rheological parameters is crucial when processing ceramics for controlling and designing processes as well as for formulation and quality control of the slurries. Therefore, being able to measure rheological parameters of ceramic slurries in a reliable manner is of great importance.
This report describes measuring methods for the rheological assessment of slurries using the Modular Compact Rheometer (MCR, Figure 1).
