SVM 3001 and SVM 3001 Cold Properties are among the most versatile kinematic viscometers available today. In addition to measuring viscosity and density, they offer a wide range of advanced features for comprehensive sample analysis.
While various kinematic viscometers based on different principles and standards are available, most of these instruments deliver only kinematic or dynamic viscosity as final result.
SVM 3001 can do much more for you.
The instrument features one metal viscosity cell and one metal density cell, covering a broad viscosity range from 0.2 mm²/s to 30,000 mm²/s across a wide temperature range of -60 °C to +135 °C. For conventional D445 instruments, nearly the full set of capillaries (16) is required to cover this viscosity range. Even instruments with wide-range capillaries cannot achieve SVM’s full coverage using just one capillary. This means that either multiple D445 instruments are needed or capillaries must be frequently changed.
SVM measures according to ASTM D7042 but can apply a bias correction to obtain ASTM D445 results for certain sample groups. The SVM 3001 software includes measurement modes that not only support comprehensive sample analysis but also simplify your workflow: The instrument offers temperature scans and time scans as well as viscosity index (VI) determination.
Custom measurement functions can be programmed to meet specific application needs. No PC is required for operation, and the instrument can be seamlessly integrated into a laboratory network.
Use SVM as standalone device or as main instrument in combination with an Abbemat refractometer.
Optional automation with sample changers featuring 1 to 71 positions supports fully unattended sample analysis.
