Material Brief: Vacuum Grease - True Density - Ultrapyc

Vacuum grease was analyzed using helium gas on the Ultrapyc 5000. The true density was measured.

Vacuum grease is a semisolid usually used with glass vacuum systems. Customers expect the vacuum grease to have the same consistency and properties each time they seal the joints of their glass products. True density may be useful as an indicator for maintaining this quality and consistency in the formed final product in every batch.

The Anton Paar Ultrapyc 5000, a temperature-controlled gas pycnometer, was used to measure the true density of vacuum grease. The instrument can easily and repeatedly handle the semisolid nature of the vacuum grease.
