Material Brief: Quartz – BET Surface Area Nova 600 | 800 Series

Quartz powder was analyzed using N2 (77 K) adsorption on the Nova 800 BET. The BET surface area was calculated from the data following ASTM C1069.

Quartz is a crystalline mineral composed of silica (silicone dioxide) and is the most commonly occurring form of silica found in nature. It is used as raw material for construction materials such as ceramics, glass, concrete, or mortar. BET surface area is used in its material specifications, manufacturing control, and research and development. The Anton Paar Nova
800 BET complies with international standard ASTM C1069 and was used to measure a quartz sample with the method given in the standard.
