Material Brief: Platinum on Alumina - Activation Energy - autosorb iQ C

Temperature programmed oxidation (TPO) curves were measured with different temperature ramp rates for a platinum-on-alumina catalyst using the autosorb iQ C with TCD and the activation energy calculated.

Many catalysts function only in their oxidized state. When planning for catalyst regeneration, it is best to determine the material’s activation energy to optimize the regeneration process (the lower the activation energy, the easier it is to regenerate).

The autosorb iQ C equipped with TCD was used to analyze platinum-on-alumina. Multiple temperature programmed oxidation (TPO) analyses measured at different temperature ramp rates were used to calculate the activation energy.
