Material Brief: Activated Carbon - BET Area and Micro-Mesopore Size Distribution - Autosorb 6100

Activated carbon was analyzed using N2 (77 K) adsorption on the Anton Paar Autosorb 6100. The BET surface area and micro- and mesopore size distribution using appropriate DFT models were calculated from the data.

The adsorption of N2 at 77 K is commonly used to characterize activated carbons for surface area and micro- and mesopore size distribution. The Anton Paar Autosorb 6100 was used to characterize a commercially available activated carbon with N2 (77 K) adsorption. The adsorption isotherm measured was analyzed using the most appropriate DFT model for pore size distribution and the surface area was calculated by the BET method.
