Tableting is a common method to facilitate powder handling and dosage for industrial purposes or for the final use of the ingredients in the shape of a medical pill. The final properties of tablets are closely related to the final density achieved after powder compression. This report summarizes a study on the compactability of various powders used in the pharmaceutical industry. The sample behavior was investigated using two different setups, including the Powder Shear Cell.
