Humidity and Temperature for a Polymer-Steel Tribocontact

Tribology is the science and engineering of interacting surfaces in relative motion.

In order to be able to transfer the results of the model tests to the real application, care must be taken to ensure that the conditions are as close as possible to the real application. A tribological system can be divided into two parts, namely the structure (material and appearance) and the stress collective (applied energy). The structure is determined by the tested material pair with its properties and geometry and by the intermediate and ambient medium, which for both can be either solid, liquid, or gaseous and can act only as an environment or also as a third body between the pair.
