Density measurement of high viscous samples
With the Xsample 340 filling and rinsing unit, we can measure gel-formed samples like petroleum jelly with additional automatic draining and cleaning
Introduction
Petroleum jelly is a colorless or pale yellow colored semisolid mixture of hydrocarbons having a melting point of approximately 37 °C and a kinematic viscosity of 13 mm²/s at 100°C.
It is used in a wide range of applications mainly in the medicine and cosmetic industry, with different additives according to their application.
This report describes how to measure the density of a commercially available sample Pharma Petroleum Jelly CD 2000 from Parafluid and a customer sample which is based on petroleum jelly.
