Degassing on the Autosorb 6100, 6200, and 6300: Cold trap enhances degas vacuum performance
Built-in degassing stations on the Autosorb 6100, 6200, and 6300 take advantage of the instrument’s turbomolecular pump vacuum system. The vacuum degassing system is outfitted with a cold trap, which significantly reduces the amount of time required to reach the lowest pressures for degassing microporous samples.
This report shows the vacuum level improvement when using the cold trap. In the Autosorb instruments, the gas flow path between sample cells on the degas stations and the vacuum system incorporates a cold trap. That flow path can be accessed regardless of whether the trap glassware is at room temperature or cooled with a cryogen. A comparison is shown to demonstrate the benefits of cryogen cooling on the degassing cold trap.
