Data management of particle size analysis optimized by the instrument adapter for AP Connect

Anton Paar Particle Size Analysis (PSA) instruments, which perform particle size analysis by laser diffraction, are heavily used for quality control purposes. PSA results can now seamlessly be transferred to AP Connect using the Instrument Adapter, facilitating data traceability and ensuring uniform data management. This also simplifies forwarding results to LIMS or DMS, enhancing laboratory operation efficiency.

Introduction

This report shows the workflow of processing PSA measurement data via the Instrument Adapter for AP Connect into the centralized storage of AP Connect and further towards a Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or Data Management Systems (DMS).

AP Connect as a Middleware and Central Data Repository

AP Connect enables seamless data transfer and management of laboratory instruments from Anton Paar and various other vendors. Laboratories can achieve a unified data ecosystem and easy accessibility of data from computers across the company network. AP Connect acts as a central repository for data, now including the PSA series instruments, allowing a cohesive view of all laboratory data. This integration yields several benefits, chief among them the secure storage of result values in a unified manner and their automatic transfer to LIMS or DMS. AP Connect interfaces with instruments from different vendors, providing a unified data platform. Data normalization and standardization ensures consistency across instruments. Moreover, efforts for integration of data into a LIMS are reduced as the number of interfaces is lowered.
