Accurate Total Package Oxygen Measurement in Cans with Nitrogen Widgets
Limiting the Total Package Oxygen (TPO) in beverages is crucial as O2 can change the appearance and flavor of the products and, at high levels, lead to the corrosion of cans. Therefore, measuring the concentration of Total Package Oxygen is essential to ensure the highest quality and shelf life of the products.
This application report shows that even with higher N2 levels, O2 determination for quality control can be performed accurately and reliably to prevent oxidation of ingredients and cans. Furthermore, the applicative solution for successfully measuring cans equipped with widgets is presented here.
