PTD 80 extends temperature-controlled viscosity measurement with a clean, robust, and space-efficient design, ready to use right out of the box. Its solid-state Peltier technology enables rapid temperature changes between 15 °C and 80 °C without the need for cooling liquids. Fully operated via ViscoQC, PTD 80 supports all cylindrical systems such as DIN, small sample SC4, and UL, covering sample volumes from 2 mL to 20 mL. The T-Ready™ function signals temperature equilibration of the sample for confident and repeatable measurements.

No cooling liquids, no maintenance

Unlike conventional circulator baths, PTD 80 uses solid-state Peltier technology instead of cooling liquids. This eliminates leaks and regular maintenance associated with cooling liquids and hoses, while avoiding contamination risks at the measuring position. Active heating and cooling operate at a typical rate of 3 °C/min, delivering fast temperature changes with high efficiency. Once set, the system maintains a stability of ±0.1 °C, ensuring precise and reproducible viscosity measurements.

Guaranteed temperature confidence

The unique T-Ready™ feature indicates when the sample has reached the set temperature, ensuring that every measurement is performed under identical thermal conditions. Full control via ViscoQC allows temperature settings to be embedded directly into the measuring method, streamlining operation and reducing manual interaction. Temperature calibration can be performed directly in ViscoQC by applying an offset, ensuring consistently accurate and reliable results.

Faster testing with less sample

PTD 80 supports routine QC at fixed temperatures as well as automated temperature scans across predefined points. Compared to conventional spindle-and-beaker setups, it works with cylindrical measuring systems requiring only 2 mL to 20 mL of sample. Faster thermal equilibration – minutes instead of hours – enables quicker measurements and higher throughput.
