Team Lead Firmware (f/m/x)

We are looking for an experienced professional to join us as a Senior Firmware Engineer (f/m/x) and take on the role of Team Lead from day one. As part of our Firmware Platform team, you will develop the technological foundation that powers Anton Paar's instrument teams. In addition to remaining hands-on in firmware development, you will be responsible for team organization, backlog management, and ensuring the timely delivery of work in an agile Scrum environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and mentor a small firmware development team while fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement
- Own and manage the firmware product backlog by structuring requirements, prioritizing work packages, and enabling efficient team execution
- Develop reusable firmware platform components in C/C++ with well-defined software architectures and interfaces
- Drive architectural decisions within the team's area of responsibility
- Analyze and evaluate requirements, translating them into technical specifications and realistic development plans
- Actively contribute to the design, development, and implementation of innovative firmware solutions
Your profile:
- Degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (HTL, University of Applied Sciences, or University)
- Several years of experience developing embedded firmware for microcontrollers, with a strong focus on abstraction, clean interfaces, and testable software architectures
- Strong programming skills in C, C++, RTOS concepts, and Python
- Proven ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and drive them through to successful completion
- A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills, a supportive mindset, and a strong sense of responsibility for achieving shared goals

We offer a fair and market-aligned salary based on the collective agreement for employees in the metal trade – adjusted to the regional conditions of the Styrian labor market. The minimum gross monthly salary for this position is € 4.500 (based on full-time employment). What truly counts for us are your personality, your skills, and the experience you bring. That’s why we take the time to determine your actual gross salary individually and are happy to offer a higher pay in recognition of your qualifications.
