Senior Systems Engineer – Datacenter & Private Cloud (f/m/x)

Quality is a fundamental cornerstone of our long-term success as a technology leader. From our headquarters in Graz, Austria, we design and operate the IT infrastructure of the Anton Paar Group. To further develop our central datacenter and private cloud infrastructure, we are looking to strengthen our IT team. The focus of this role is on virtualization, storage, and backup technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Take technical ownership of the operation and continuous improvement of our VMware, storage, and backup infrastructure
- Operate and manage the lifecycle of the physical server infrastructure
- Analyze and sustainably resolve complex incidents while monitoring availability, performance, and capacity
- Independently plan and implement lifecycle, upgrade, and migration projects
- Further develop technical standards and automate recurring operational tasks
- Serve as the technical point of contact for related areas such as networking, security, and application operations
Your profile:
- Completed education in Information Technology or a related field
- 5+ years of experience operating complex datacenter and server infrastructures
- Strong expertise in VMware/vSphere; experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) is highly desirable
- Experience with enterprise storage and backup solutions
- Solid knowledge of physical server platforms and Linux administration
- Excellent understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, and backup/restore concepts
- Self-motivated and structured working style, with a willingness to take technical ownership and share knowledge within the team

We offer a fair and market-aligned salary based on the collective agreement for employees in the metal trade – adjusted to the regional conditions of the Styrian labor market. The minimum gross monthly salary for this position is € 4.000 (based on full-time employment). What truly counts for us are your personality, your skills, and the experience you bring. That’s why we take the time to determine your actual gross salary individually and are happy to offer a higher pay in recognition of your qualifications.
