Sales Manager - Business Unit Measurement

The Sales Manager is responsible for managing the product managers and the sales activities of the Lab Density & Concentration product line within South Korea. The Sales Manager also participates in sales activities such as conferences and seminars. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assists the General Manager to build sales strategies which ensures that assigned product lines achieve sales at or above target levels
  • Manages all aspects of the assigned territory, e.g., developing product managers, increasing sales, developing and managing customer relationships, conducting product demos, installations and customer training
  • Prepares monthly reports for General Manager - Sales & Marketing on selling activities via proprietary CRM software
  • HR Topics:
    • Interviews, makes hiring and firing recommendations, develops new hires, assigns and schedules work, and appraises performance
    • Ensures that product mangers are properly trained and their skills are continually being advanced
  • Acquires and maintains a comprehensive knowledge of all assigned product lines by attending in-house technical training courses, also attends manufacturer trainings at parent company
  • Attends sales meetings and trade shows, and reads industry publications to gain knowledge of competitors’ product strengths and weaknesses within assigned sales territory
  • Maintains proper and correct records of travel expenses.
  • Must maintain a current and valid driver’s license and passport
  • 50% overnight travel throughout South Korea

Requirements:

  • Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar.
  • The successful candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills and must be capable of communicating equally well with Ph.D. level scientists and QC technicians.
  • At least two years of experience in successfully selling scientific, analytical instrumentation.
  • Experience in Lab Density & Concentration, Viscosity, Refractometry & Polarimetry, Petroleum, and Lab Automation product lines is preferred.
  • Must know good laboratory practices.
  • The ability to work independently and a strong commitment to cultivating new business are essential for success.
  • Overnight travel is required.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Must maintain a current and valid driver's license.
