Junior AI Engineer (f/m/x)

InIn this role, you will develop and operate modern AI solutions for productive internal applications. Combining software engineering, data science, and state-of-the-art AI tools, you will help deliver scalable and practical solutions. You will work on both traditional machine learning applications and Generative AI use cases (e.g., assistant systems, automation, and agentic workflows) and contribute to bringing them into production.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement production-ready AI applications (Machine Learning, Generative AI, and LLM-based systems)
- Support the transition of models into scalable production systems across the entire lifecycle, from exploration to deployment
- Build and integrate AI services, APIs, and workflows into existing IT landscapes
- Design and implement modern AI architectures (e.g., RAG, feature pipelines, and model orchestration)
- Contribute to the development of end-to-end solutions on Azure and Databricks, including data processing, model development, and deployment
- Develop and operate data and model pipelines for training, inference, and monitoring
- Utilize and integrate modern AI tools and platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, and LLM platforms)
- Help ensure the performance, scalability, and maintainability of AI solutions
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to identify and implement AI use cases
Your profile:
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- Initial experience in developing and implementing AI/ML solutions, including LLMs and Generative AI
- Good programming skills, particularly in Python
- Practical experience with building and deploying RAG systems and Agentic AI solutions
- Experience with Azure and Databricks
- Ability to independently design and technically implement AI use cases
- Excellent written and spoken German and English skills

We offer a fair and market-aligned salary based on the collective agreement for employees in the metal trade – adjusted to the regional conditions of the Styrian labor market. The minimum gross monthly salary for this position is € 3.800 (based on full-time employment). What truly counts for us are your personality, your skills, and the experience you bring.
