RapidOxy 100 / RapidOxy 100 Fuel: A success story

Join us in this tour through the development history of a groundbreaking new instrument and test method for measuring the oxidation stability. After an endless string of innovative ideas, solutions and engineering mile stones, standardization including politics, and sure also challenges and sometimes setback, the rapid small scale oxidation instrument and method succeeded to be finally included in the Diesel Fuel Specification EN 590. And the journey is not over, yet.

All began with returning from an ASTM meeting with the idea planted by customers complains to improve oxidation stability testing in the petroleum industry: The success story of the development of a revolutionary new instrument and test method for the determination of the oxidation stability of middle distillates, fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) fuels and blends thereof from the very beginning until its final introduction into the diesel fuel specification EN 590.
