A recipe for success: Combining rheology and particle characterization for pharmaceutical and cosmetic product formulation
Pharmaceutical and cosmetic products based on semi-solid formulations such as creams and ointments are versatile, but development, production and storage of them can be demanding. Analytical methods such as particle characterization and rheology are relevant for acceleration of the development of such disperse systems, and to ensure both product quality and safety.
In the first part of the webinar, you will learn about particle analysis, with a focus on laser diffraction. In the second, you will learn how to use rheological methods to characterize semi-solid preparations with rotational and oscillatory tests. In the third, the company RaDes GmbH, experts in the field of semi-solid and liquid dosage forms, will provide you with practical application examples and demonstrate how formulation and product quality benefit from these characterization methods.
Formateur: Nathalie Etchart-Liechtenstein, Ph.D., guest speaker Melanie Köllmer, Ph.D RaDes GmbH, Christopher Giehl, Ph.D
Nathalie Etchart is an application specialist for Particle Characterization and Surface Charge, at the Anton Paar headquarters in Austria. She earned a PhD in Immunology from the University of Lyon, France, and has worked in vaccine research and stem cell research in the UK, France and Austria, before joining Anton Paar in 2016.
Christopher Giehl is with Anton Paar since 2018 as a trainer and product specialist for rheometry. His responsibilities involve training & education, as well as research & application development. He studied mineralogy with a major in material sciences, holds a doctorate in volcanology from University of Tübingen (Germany) and was a lab manager and assistant professor for experimental mineralogy at Kiel University (Germany).
