Material Brief | TPD/TPA Calcium Oxide-Autosorb_3300

the Autosorb 3300 was used to perform temperature programmed desorption (TPD) as well as its reverse — temperature programmed adsorption (TPA) in a cyclic fashion to characterize material lifetime for cyclic desorption-adsorption.

Cyclic gas adsorption is a broad topic that covers applications ranging from carbon capture, hydrogen storage, and volatile organic compound (VOC) removal. The characterization process for the wide variety of samples is: cycles of either temperature and/or pressure to measure the uptake, the release, and the cyclability (or lifetime). The pressure can also be controlled in a flow instrument by working with the partial pressure of the gas of interest. In this report, we studied the cyclic desorption/adsorption of carbon dioxide onto calcium oxide using the Autosorb 3300.
