Less is more: Efficient Particle Analysis Using SF and SFI
Small Flow (SF) and Small Flow Imaging (SFI) units enable reliable particle characterization with minimal sample and solvent use. Compatible with oils and organic media, they support reproducible analysis across diverse applications and Litesizer DIF configurations.
The Small Flow (SF) and Small Flow Imaging (SFI) dispersion units have been specifically developed for reliable particle characterization. They enable efficient dispersion and analysis while significantly reducing sample consumption, solvent use, and preparation time. This makes the units particularly valuable for research laboratories, formulation development, and high-value materials where sample availability is limited.
A major advantage of the SF and SFI units is their compatibility with oils and organic solvents. In contrast to conventional aqueous-only systems, the design allows stable and reproducible measurements in media such as acetone, MEK, NMP and oil-based formulations. This extends particle size analysis to a wide range of challenging applications in chemicals, pharmaceuticals, inks, battery materials, coatings, and food ingredients. Table 1 shows available configurations of the Small Flow (SF) and Small Flow Imaging (SFI) units across different Litesizer DIF models, highlighting compatibility and flexibility for various measurement needs.
