The Brabender TwinLab B-TSE-S 30/40 brings pilot-scale extrusion into space-constrained environments, enabling faster installation, relocation, and project restarts. With the most compact dimensions in its class and a drive unit built directly into the system, the double-screw extruder fits where other pilot lines won’t. Delivering up to 100 kg/h, it supports everything from pilot trials and scale-up validation to reliable small-scale production, making it well suited for recurring small batches, internal supply, and customer-specific runs.

Full barrel access at the push of a button

Designed for fast access to critical components, the TwinLab B-TSE-S 30/40 double-screw extruder features a clamshell barrel with an automated opening mechanism. At the push of a button, the whole upper barrel half opens to provide access to screws, liner, and melt zones for fast cleaning and visual inspection. The open design allows for immediate validation of filling behavior and mixing quality, enabling early detection of issues and faster progression to the next trial. Because critical zones are visible without disassembly, changeovers are faster, process checks are more efficient, and more trials can be safely completed per shift.

Easy compounding: Quick liner insert exchange

Reduce maintenance effort, shorten turnarounds, and keep the trial schedule on track, thanks to TwinLab’s split, detachable liner. Designed for quick release without dismantling the entire barrel, inserts can be exchanged by loosening a few bolts. This allows liner materials and hardness to be easily matched to the application, including demanding processes involving challenging, particularly abrasive, or corrosive compounds.

One double-screw extruder, endless setups

From first trials to future expansions, the TwinLab B-TSE-S 30/40 is designed to adapt to changing requirements. The integrated engineering interface with modular digital and analog I/O enables software-based configuration of sensor and actuator channels, allowing new feeders, dies, sensors, or downstream equipment to be integrated without hardware modifications. Signals can be remapped in minutes, streamlining engineering during process development.

MetaBridge: Traceable compounding data at your fingertips

TwinLab’s MetaBridge software enables real-time monitoring of the extrusion process directly at the extruder or via a web browser from any desktop or mobile device – keeping operators, R&D, and remote support aligned. Process data from the double-screw extruder is recorded automatically and can be exported as CSV, Excel, or PDF for clear, traceable reporting. Peripherals are detected automatically by the software for fast and reliable setup and reconfiguration.
