For valuable medical samples such as protein solutions or samples only available in limited quantities, Lovis 2001 is the perfect solution. Lovis enables reliable and precise measurements of dynamic and kinematic viscosity as well as different polymer parameters with sample volumes as low as 100 μL.
Low volume applications
In the pharmaceutical, medical and healthcare sectors, sample volumes can be very limited, e. g. due to the high price of raw materials and end products. Other samples for low volume applications are liquids that are only available in small quantities – these are for example body fluids in clinical diagnostics such as blood or serum. Despite the small sample volume available, these samples need to be analyzed, which requires measurement methods that allow precise analysis of very small volumes. Such measurements can be easily performed with Lovis 2001 microviscometer.
By using short capillaries, Lovis 2001 enables viscosity measurements from sample volumes as little as 100 μL. The capillaries are available in glass and PCTFE, which extends the range of applications to corrosive and toxic substances. Requiring only small sample volume also increases safety for users handling such corrosive and toxic substances. After measurement, the sample can be recovered for further analysis.
A typical example of valuable samples, of which often only a small quantity is available, are therapeutic protein solutions used for the treatment of various diseases.
