The increasing demand for e-cigarette liquids requires rapid and reliable quality control to ensure consistent product performance and user satisfaction. Viscosity is a critical parameter influencing device compatibility, wicking behavior, and overall user experience, including vapor production and flavor delivery. Density, on the other hand, is essential for accurate formulation when using mass-based recipes, verifying nicotine concentrations, and fulfilling regulatory documentation requirements. This application report demonstrates how viscosity, specific gravity, and density of e-liquids are efficiently measured using the SVM 1101 Simple Fill viscometer, a cost-effective, user-friendly tool for routine quality assurance in e-liquid production.

Specific gravity, also referred to as relative density, is an important quality control parameter for such applications and its calculation is a built-in feature of the SVM 1101 Simple Fill.

For this application report, six different samples were measured with different flavors and nicotine concentrations.
