High Precision Measurements with the UXF/TD
High precision elongational measurements allow the accurate characterization of polymer material. Extensional flow is examined with the UXF/TD measuring system, showcasing the accuracy gained by a MultiDrive setup and high torque sensitivity.
In many applications the extensional flow plays a significant role. Therefore, an extensional rheological examination of the material is crucial to understanding the behavior during processing and in the final product. The most prominent measuring system options for extensional rheological measurements are the Sentmanat Extensional Rheometer (SER) and the Universal Extensional Fixture (UXF/TD). Both systems consist of two wind-up drums that stretch the sample through rotation in opposing directions. This generates a uniaxial flow in the sample.
