Compression tests are a common tool to determine the mechanical properties of samples in many industries, such as textural attributes of food or the compressive strength of soft matter samples. Due to its sensitive lift drive, Anton Paar’s MCR Rheometer series is able perform static compressive tests or - with a separate lower linear drive - dynamic tests in oscillation to determine tensile strength, Young’s modulus and cyclic fatigue behavior of soft samples with high accuracy and repeatability.
