L-Cor 8500 UHP - Built for Heavy-Duty Measurement | Hydrogen Mass Flow Measurement at Extreme Pressures
Peak precision and reliable measurement at ultra-high pressures with the new L-Cor 8500 UHP from Anton Paar. Developed for stable performance under cycling, transients, and demanding operating conditions for the hydrogen value chain.
Hydrogen is becoming a key building block of energy transition because it can connect renewable electricity with sectors that are difficult to electrify directly. Produced from water and renewable power, or as by-product from the chemical processes, it enables low-carbon pathways for heavy transport, high-temperature industrial heat, and the chemical industry, where hydrogen is a critical feedstock for products such as ammonia and other base chemicals.
This infrastructure is entering the phase where systems must run reliably every day, not just prove feasibility. Increased pressures, frequent load changes, and continuous cycling quickly expose weak points in compression, storage and the instrumentation around them. In this setting, mass flow measurement is not simply a process signal, it is a core input for safe control, transparent performance tracking and dependable operation over time, helping support stable compressor operation and consistent downstream delivery.
That requires a flowmeter that can handle ultra-high pressure while remaining stable in real hydrogen service, including demanding transient conditions and repeated pressurization cycles. The L-Cor 8500 UHP is a Coriolis mass flowmeter rated up to 1200 bar.
